WARREN, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are hosting a special event Tuesday in the hopes of identifying hundreds of unknown remains across the state.

Family members of long-term missing persons are invited to provide DNA family reference samples, photographs and dental records of their loved ones.

MSP says there are currently 315 known unsolved unidentified remains cases statewide.

Potential donors must be biological relatives and will be asked to allow a non-invasive swab of inside the cheek.

The event will take place at Warrent City Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 19 from noon to 6 p.m.
