The Michigan State Police are investigating the death of a 13-year-old girl.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene of a home in the 5500 hundred block of Groveland Road in Groveland Township after getting a call a young teen was not breathing Tuesday.
“We received a call and we responded with two ambulances, one from each side of town and when we arrived we found a <13-year-old> unconscious and unresponsive,” said Groveland Fire Chief Steve McGee.
First responders performed life-saving measures, but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police are trying to figure out the cause of her death and an autopsy was just completed. Results have not yet been released.
