(WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating two fatal crashes that occurred early Sunday morning.
The first crash happened at 6:35 a.m. in the area of eastbound I-94 near Eight Mile Road in Harper Woods. Police say the driver was speeding and lost control before going up an embankment and striking a tree. The vehicle caught fire and the driver was entrapped.
Police say the driver has not yet been identified.
The second crash happened on southbound M-10 near Glendale in Detroit.
The single-vehicle vehicle happened around 2 a.m. on Sunday. Police say the driver lost control and median wall. A preliminary investigation found that the driver was not wearing a seat belt and was killed.
Troopers are now trying to identify the driver and contact the family.
