ROYAL OAK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating a police situation overnight in Royal Oak Township.

MSP says troopers responded to the 2300 block of Garden Lane for a possible shooting. Troopers found a GMC pickup crashed into a utility pole near the immediate area.

They followed a blood trail from the car to the house in the area, which had a strong odor of marijuana.

Police say they went into the home and found it was empty, but a large marijuana grow operation was discovered in the basement. MSP was then notified that one non-life thretening gun shot victim was at the hospital and a second victim was being treated, as well.

The investigation is continuing to determine exactly what occurred and the relationship between the vehicle and house, as well as the connection of the marijuana to the incident.
