LIVONIA, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police say a shots fired incident on the I-275 freeway Wednesday in Livonia was a road rage situation.
The incident occurred on southbound I-275 near 8 Mile. Officials say a similar incident happened in Plymouth earlier in the day.
According to police, they received reports of a potential victim driving themselves to a restaurant in Plymouth at the corner of Haggerty and Ann Arbor.
Police say no one was struck or injured and the vehicle was also not struck. The victim is fully cooperating with police.
Police say they identified a suspect vehicle description, which matched both incidents. The suspect was located and taken into custody without incident.
A handgun has been recovered.
The suspect, who is being held at the Oakland County Jail, reportedly told police there was an on-going road rage incident with the victim.
