ROSEVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) — The home of a Roseville City Council member was raided by Michigan State Police late Thursday night.

State Police confirm the councilman was taken into custody and later released. A warrant request will be made to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office as the case develops.

A neighbor who lives across the street shot some cell phone video and pictures that show several police on the scene with emergency lights flashing. The neighbor, who declined to disclose his name, says he saw several people in handcuffs and it looked like a raid to him as police stormed through the front door. It happened at around midnight.

Police sources say this could be drug-related but the investigation continues.

We are not naming the council member until formal charges are issued.
