A Michigan State Police trooper saved a waitress from choking in Woodhaven.

On Nov. 2, Trooper Mark Adams was off-duty at the Big Boy restaurant in Woodhaven when the waitress began choking.

Police say other employees were yelling for help.

Adams identified himself as a police officer and asked another patron to call 911. He performed the Heimlich maneuver along with back blows on the victim.

After several sets, he was able to dislodge the obstruction. She began breathing on her own as Woodhaven PD and Woodhaven Fire/Rescue arrived on scene to give medical aid.
