A River Rouge woman was accused of threatening her 14-year-old son with a hammer, according to Michigan State Police.
Police say on Oct. 11, a 14-year-old boy fled his mother's residence and ended up with a friend. After speaking with the victim, troopers determined that the boy's mother, 48-year-old Kimberly Schultz, allegedly assaulted him and threatened him with a hammer. Troopers went to Schultz's home in Alpena Township and found evidence to suppport the child's claims.
Schultz was charged with one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and one count of Domestic Violence.
Police say Chld Protective Services assisted in the case, making sure the victim was placed in a safe home during the investigation.
