A second Freedom Center lounge has opened at Detroit Metro Airport.
The lounge is designed for military members, veterans and their families. It's a place for them to feel comfortable and relax while traveling.
“It’s nice to have a place to call home. That’s our mission - to provide a homelike atmosphere for our military personnel," says Ken Pratt, Michigan Armed Forces Hospitality Center president.
The Masco Foundation made a $100,000 donation to make the lounge happen.
“Anything we can do to make the lives of veterans and military personnel more comfortable when they travel is a small way to thank them for all they’ve done for the country,” says Masco chairman Rihard Manoogian.
The lounge is open from 6 a.m. until the last flight takes off. The center needs volunteers to help out.
