Minimum wage for Michigan workers to increase

Michigan workers will be seeing a little more money in their paychecks starting in the new year. 

Licensing and Regulatory Affairs notes minimum hourly wage will increase from $8.90 to $9.25 starting on January 1. 

The training wage will stay at $4.25 an hour for the first 90 days and employees who are tipped can be paid 38 percent of Michigan's minimum wage, according to LARA.
