(WXYZ) — A missing 18-year-old girl who disappeared from Van Buren Township has been found safe in Florida.
Officials with the Van Buren Police Department says the Volusia County Sheriff's Department has determined that Heavenly Sloan is there voluntarily. Deputies who interviewed her say she told them she was "on vacation."
Family members say Sloan drove from her home in Middletown Ohio for a family reunion in Ypsilanti last Friday. The next morning she spoke to her dad, told him she planned to stop at the bank and then drive home to Ohio. She made a stop at a friend’s home at the Kirk Ridge Apartments.
Van Buren Township Police say a surveillance camera captured what appears to be a picture of her leaving alone in her car around three Sunday morning.
Police say it appears she made bank withdrawals and her license plate was spotted in Georgia. They hope was she was voluntarily missing and okay, but her family sais she doesn’t know anyone in Georgia.
