As Deanna Minor, 28, remains in a local hospital's crisis center, forensic examiners have been trying to determine just how her 3-year-old son died.

The decomposing body of little Aaron Minor was discovered Wednesday in his mother's apartment by a maintenance worker.

A determination on how and when the toddler died remains pending further investigation. Detroit Police say there were no obvious signs of trauma.

On May 16, an ambulance reportedly picked Minor up from the front lawn area of her apartment.

But Minor may not have indicated that she had a small child in her apartment. It's unclear if anyone asked.

Minor has three other children from a previous relationship. The twin girls, believed to be about 10 years old, and 6-year-old boy are being raised by their father, according to Minor's sister, Kyra Mylum.

Mylum says her sister allowed the father of the three children to have full custody of them because she was unable to support them.

Minor was reportedly hospitalized for severe depression after the birth of her twin daughters.

Mylum says workers with COTS (Coalition on Temporary Shelter) had been trying to assist her sister on a regular basis, but she does not know when their last contact with her took place.
