A Detroit man who was at the top of the U.S. Marshals fugitive list has been arrested thanks to information provided by a Channel 7 viewer!

Marquiese Esters, 25, is accused of trying to kill members of his family. Esters was arrested at an address on the east side of Detroit after critical information was provided.

The family has been living in fear since August 21 when police say he was determined to hunt his father and sister down and kill them.

“Esters comes up driving crazy through the neighborhood,” Deputy U.S. Marshal Aaron Garcia said. “His father pulls him aside and says it’s too dangerous, you’re going to hurt somebody- at that point they get into an argument, Esters doesn’t like what he hears.”

That’s when things got out of control in the west side neighborhood.  Garcia says the father and sister flee in a car and Esters chased them in another car firing shots.

“He ends up escaping and getting away and runs to the Detroit Police Department to notify them of what happened,” Garcia said.

And that’s not the only thing Esters was wanted for.

“He likes to steal cars, there’s multiple warrants out there for stolen vehicles and running a chop shop the guy is probably in the stolen vehicle right now,” Garcia said.
