DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are investigating after a mother was carjacked at gunpoint while sitting in the parking lot of a Detroit school shortly after dropping her child off.
According to police, it happened at 9:46 a.m. at Mackenzie Elementary-Middle School on West Chicago in the city.
We're told she was sitting in the parking lot doing something on her cell phone when a suspect approached, pulled out a gun and demanded her vehicle.
The vehicle is a 207 black Chrysler 300 with license plate CNE 2260.
The suspect took off westbound on Chicago and police are still searching for the suspect. They have not given a description of the suspect.
