DETROIT (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating yet another freeway shooting in metro Detroit.
On July 6 around 5:05 p.m., Metro South Post troopers responded to southbound I-75 and 7 Mile Road in Detroit for a freeway shooting.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a male victim was involved in a traffic altercation with the male suspect in the construction zone north of 8 Mile Road. According to MSP, the two vehicles continued driving next to each other, when the suspect pulled next to the victim’s vehicle. The suspect then lowered his window and fired one shot toward the victim.
MSP says no one was struck by the round, and there were no injuries from the incident. The suspect continued driving, and the victim called 911, MSP tweeted.
This is the sixth freeway shooting in a week in the metro Detroit area.
The investigation is ongoing.
