(WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating a freeway shooting from Tuesday night that happened on I-96.
On Dec. 15 around 10:35 p.m., troopers responded to the eastbound I-96 local lanes east of M-39 for a shooting. Troopers found Detroit Fire treating the driver of a Nissan on the left shoulder for a gunshot wound to the leg.
The driver told police that he heard gunshots right after he entered EB I-96 from M-39 or Greenfield. He wasn’t quite sure on the location, according to MSP.
EB I-96 local lanes at M-39, NB and SB M-39 ramps to EB I-96 and the Greenfield entrance ramp to EB I-96 were all closed for an investigation.
The driver is in good condition in a local hospital, police say.
