DETROIT (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating a possible shooting on northbound Southfield freeway near the I-96 ramp.

On Nov. 3 at around 5:30 p.m., troopers responded to the possible shooting. A preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was traveling on the Southfield Freeway when a driver cut her off.

According to MSP, the woman honked at the driver, and the suspect vehicle stopped and the passenger fired at the victim.

Both the suspect vehicle driver and passenger ran off from the scene, police say.

MSP says a canine track was unsuccessful, and it appears the suspect vehicle was stolen.

The investigation is ongoing.

The freeway reopened to traffic around 9:47 p.m. Tuesday.
