Michigan State Police troopers found three scared German Shepherds on the Lodge Freeway.

Overnight Wednesday, troopers from the Metro South Post responded to the area of Lodge and Forest for a report of a dog on the freeway. Once they were in the area, they learned it was actually three German Shepherds.

MSP says that with a citizen's help, they were able to get all three dogs in their patrol cars and get them to safety.

The dogs were eventually returned to their owners, who were able to find the lost dogs through MSP's photos.

Police tell us the owners live in Midtown and the dogs somehow got out of the yard and ended up on the freeway. They did have to pay an impound fee to get the dogs back.
