(WXYZ) — A man who allegedly fired shots into a woman's home during a domestic dispute then took police on a pursuit through multiple metro Detroit cities in a stolen vehicle, was arrested thanks to a joint police effort.

The incident happened on Jan. 10 around 9 p.m. in the 34000 block of Birchgrove in Sterling Heights. A woman reported that her boyfriend had fired a gunshot into her home. When officers arrived, they saw the suspect flee in a silver Lincoln MKZ.

Authorities tried making a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the man continued on, which initiated the pursuit.

The suspect traveled south on Van Dyke and onto westbound I-696. Warren police and Michigan State Police troopers joined the chase and took the lead to apprehend the suspect.

The chase ended in Redford Township when the suspect's car was involved in a roll-over crash. The driver and a passenger were injured and then treated at a nearby hospital.

Police say the driver and passenger were both taken into custody.

"The Sterling Heights Police Department would like to thank the Warren Police Department, and the Michigan State Police for their assistance in this incident," a news release from Sterling Heights PD read. "It was an outstanding job by all involved to capture two dangerous suspects who were attempting to hurt anyone in their path."

The situation is still being investigated by the Sterling Heights Police Department. If you have information on this incident, contact Sterling Heights PD.
