The Federal Aviation Administration said American Airlines had canceled a requested ground stop for all its flights on Christmas Eve morning.
In a statement, American Airlines said a "vendor technology issue briefly affected flights this morning...We sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience this morning."
American Airlines said the technology issue hit systems needed to release flights. The FAA said the ground stop American Airlines requested lasted about an hour.
Customers can find the latest information on their flights on aa.com and in American's mobile app, the airline said.
