(WXYZ) — Emagine Theatres is taking steps amid the COVID-19 outbreak to "maintain a safe and clean environment."

The company employed internal measures to limit the number of guests per auditorium for public showings to 50% of the theater's capacity or a maximum of 100 guests.

Theatres are also in the process of instituting social distancing protocols.

Emagine will also put forth increased cleaning rotations in high volume areas, deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizer stations and sanitation of door handles, seats, cup holders, bathroom latches, bathroom faucets and other surfaces.

Emagine says the company will insist that any employees with symptoms of illness should call off work. The company says it is working on supporting those teammates to the best of its abilities.
