NEW YORK, N.Y. – Fox News contributor Britt McHenry says she’s been diagnosed with a brain tumor.
McHenry made the announcement on Twitter on Thursday, adding that she will undergo surgery soon.
“I have a brain tumor,” wrote McHenry. “I’m with an amazing medical team and surgery is imminent. Thank you for continued support and understanding at this time.”
The Fox Nation host and former ESPN reporter said she was trying to keep the health issue relatively private, “but as usual, things are being said without my consent.”
Earlier in the week, McHenry wrote on Twitter that she underwent an MRI and that she was overwhelmed by support from friends and strangers.
“Please I can’t stress enough, make your check-ups. Get an MRI early. It could have saved me,” she wrote.
Public figures with Fox and ESPN ties voiced their support for McHenry on Twitter, including “The View” co-host Meghan McCain, who lost her father, Sen. John McCain, to brain cancer in 2018.
“Sending love and strength Brit,” wrote McCain. “Please let me know if there’s anything we can do.”
