Jonathan Nicola, a South Sudanese man who Canadian officials say posed as a 17-year-old basketball player in Windsor, was released on bond today.
He will live with a friend in Windsor, according to his attorney. That friend posted his $7,000 bond.
The 29-year-old man was in Windsor on a student visa, in which officials claim he lied about his age.
Nicola is 6-feet-9 inches tall and weighs 202 pounds and played countless games for Windsor's Central Catholic Comets. Those games may now be in question.
A future hearing will determine if Nicola gets to stay or go.
