DETROIT (WXYZ) — Northbound M-10/Lodge near Wyoming was closed for hours Wednesday morning due to a multiple vehicle crash.
MSP 1st Lt. Mike Shaw said traffic was stopped following an accident near 7 Mile when the driver of an SUV failed to stop and slammed into a red vehicle, which then resulted in two more vehicles being hit.

In total, the crash involved four vehicles, according to Shaw.
The driver of the red vehicle passed away at the hospital, minor injuries were also reported.
Lt. Shaw said it appears the driver of the red vehicle was not wearing their safety belt at the time of the crash.
The freeway reopened around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday.
