New Midtown Detroit apartment complex to open

Posted

Midtown Detroit is about to get a breath of fresh air.

After sitting vacant for 20 years, a newly developed apartment complex will officially open with a ribbon cutting.

The building on Brainard just north of MLK Boulevard looks a lot different now than what people who live in this area saw for decades: a broken and abandoned structure.

Now, it's being brought back to life thanks to a multi-million dollar investment that included city funding.

Soon, 28 units will be open -- all of them falling under that affordable housing category.

And this is something we’re seeing more and more of in Midtown as of late. It wasn’t long ago that we were also telling you about the plans just down the road at Brush Park— a six building apartment building community with mixed use availability.

That project is called City Modern, a $70 million investment.
