DETROIT (WXYZ) - The newest addition to the all-new Little Caesars Arena is what Olympia Entertainment is called "spirit murals" installed on the north face of the arena.
With less than two weeks until the arena's first show, the murals will showcase a diverse group of Detroit sports and entertainment legends.
On Friday, the first five murals were installed on the north side of the arena, and they will display other Detroit legends over time.
They were painted by Don Kilpatrick III, a Detroit-based artist who has been featured nationally. He is also the chair of the Illustration Department at the College of Creative Studies.
The first series of murals are: Eminem, Aretha Franklin, Gordie Howe, Joe Louis and Isiah Thomas
