New video released of man police say is the killer of police Sgt. Collin Rose

Posted

Detroit Police have released new surveillance video showing a man running in front of a DDOT bus shortly after the murder of Wayne State University Police Sergeant Collin Rose back on November 22.

Police had looked at another surveillance video down the street that showed the man and the bus and that led them to obtain the bus video.

The video has been enhanced by the FBI and can only help determine the man was wearing a black hoodie with a block letter M or W. It can not provide a better view of the man’s face.

Police say it is the same man who was captured on video running and riding a bike at the time of the murder in the Woodbridge neighborhood near Lincoln and Grand River Avenue.

Days after the murder, police arrested Deangelo Davis, but he was released from jail and cleared in the case.  He had a prevalent limp, but police won’t say the surveillance video showing the killer without a limp is what cleared Davis.

Police have followed up hundreds of tips, talked with hundreds of people. All they are asking for now is the name of the man in this new video.

Crimestoppers and the ATF are both offering rewards now totaling $180,000. Anyone with information can call Crimestoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
