(WXYZ) — While metro Detroit is expected to see high wind gusts with a High Wind Warning in effect throughout the day Sunday until 4 a.m. Monday, high winds will also hit northern lower Michigan with snow as well.

That means blizzards are possible for the area, and the National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning until 7 a.m. Monday. They say blizzard conditions are expected with wind gusts between 40 mph and 60 mph causing whiteout conditions and "significant drifting of the snow."
The snow is expected to begin between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. and the worst conditions are expected from midday Sunday through 4 a.m. Monday.
"Travel will be very dangerous to impossible," the NWS said. "Damage to trees and power lines is likely."
