(WXYZ) — Michigan State Police released statistics for the Operation Eastside crackdown on I-696 between Hoover and I-94.
The one-day crackdown had a total of 135 citations. Police say 35 citations were for speeding, 32 for seat belt, 22 for no insurance, three for suspended drivers and seven for distracted driving.
Police say a total of 118 warnings were given out and the top speed was 95 miles per hour.
MSP noted that there will be more crackdowns in "special zones."

Operation Eastside was enforced on Wednesday due to the amount of speeding and aggressive driving on the stretch of I-696.
