(WXYZ) — The Animal Resource Funding Foundation volunteers need help to rescue dogs from suffering and freezing to death in the bitter cold.

Volunteers are in desperate need of people to donate cages or crates so they can go to homes.

They say many dogs will freeze to death if they are left outside even in straw-filled dog houses.

Anyone who can donate a cage is asked to drop them off at one or two locations:

Woodhaven Animal Hospital
20376 Van Horn Road Woodhaven, MI 48183

Odette and Corne Chiropractic
20960 Allen Road, Brownstown, MI 84183
