EASTPOINTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — The owners of a puppy abused in a video on social media have turned themselves in, according to Eastpointe police.
On Oct. 7, Isaac Brooks Sanders and Kershanna Seaborn turned themselves in on charges related to the video that was widely circulated on social media that showed Sanders allegedly abusing a puppy while Seaborn watched.
Police say Sanders was charged with Animal Cruelty and Failure to Care for an Animal, while Seaborn was charged with Failure to Care for an Animal.
Both were arraigned in the 38th District Court and given $5,000 personal bonds.
On Oct. 8, Eastpointe detectives obtained a court order mandating the surrender of the dog at the center of the case.
Chief Animal Control Officers took possession of the dog and conducted a veterinary examination. The dog will be held in a safe location until the conclusion of the case, according to police.
The Detroit Pit Crew also assisted in the case.
