The day has finally arrived: Happy Paczki Day!
Dozens flocked to Hamtramck early Tuesday morning to get their hands on the delicious Polish donuts.
As of 5 a.m., a line of people was already wrapped around the New Palace Bakery.
But if you enjoy a paczek today, how many calories are you eating?
According to Blue Cross Blue Shield, while the calories in one paczek vary (500-1000) depending on where you snag one, they are comparable to:
- 10 packs of fun size chocolate M&Ms
- Three slices of pepperoni and cheese pizza from Little Caesar's
- Five cans of Coke
- Four to five tacos from Taco Bell
- Four Krispy Kreme original glazed donuts
If you're still desiring one and just plan to work it off later, you may want to schedule a seven to ten mile walk or run.
