Person of interest wanted for fatal hit and run during vigil in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — The Detroit Police Department is asking for help in searching for a person of interest in a fatal hit and run.

The hit and run happened on the west side of Detroit on June 20 at approximately 10:25 p.m. in the 6000 block of McGraw, according to Detroit police. The person of interest drove through a crowd of people who were attending a candlelight vigil and struck a 27-year-old woman. The victim later died from her injuries.

The suspect fled the scene in a dark colored minivan toward an unknown direction. The driver is believed to be between 30 to 35 years old, with brown hair and blonde tips.
