Pets are often considered part of the family, but that doesn't mean it's always easy to care for them when you're living paycheck to paycheck.
Thankfully, the latest in pet care movement means our four-legged friends won't get going hungry and their owners will still be able to keep them in the family.
The Michigan Humane Society is one of the organizations offering a pet food bank program.
You can visit one of their three locations to apply. Those three locations are at the Humane Society on Newburgh Rd. in Westland, Humane Society in Detroit and on Auburn Rd. in Rochester Hills.
