The eclipse of the supermoon had metro Detroiters in awe Sunday night. We've received so many great photos from the celestial viewing.

The supermoon was at its closest point to earth and appeared 14 percent larger and 30 percent brighter than normal.
At times, the moon appeared to have an orange-reddish hue, which is why this occurrence is often referred to as a "blood moon."
The next chance to catch an eclipse of a supermoon will be in 2033.
