WYANDOTTE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Wyandotte Police have arrested a suspect who was allegedly hiding in the bedroom of a home.

Officers responded to a call regarding a suspicious person prowling around a home. The first officer to arrive began checking the home and discovered the rear door had been pried open with a crowbar.

Police say two officers entered the home and could not get a response from inside. They found the suspect hiding in a back bedroom.

Police say the suspect was reportedly waiting for the homeowner to leave for work. When the victim drove off, the suspect broke into the home. However, the quick response by police officers prevented the suspect from escaping.

The suspect will likely be charged with Home Invasion, police say, but formal charges are pending.
