"Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" is a campaign to put the breaks on drunk driving.
You will notice more cops on the road ahead of the Saint Patrick's Day holiday, across Michigan.
"Before you know it, you could be making a decision that's costly," said Troy Police Officer Sean Morse.
He is all too familiar with drunk drivers.
This 21-year veteran has arrested several people for driving under the influence.
"From the age 16 years old, and within a few weeks ago, the highest age was 82," he said.
On average -- police throughout Michigan arrest about 100 drunk drivers each day.
That number could go up during March Madness and St. Patrick's Day.
You may notice an extra police presence on Michigan roads starting today through April 4th.
"On a day like St. Patrick's day, especially a weekday a lot of people will either be not going to work or they will be leaving work early and they are going to start long before a normal night of drinking," Morse explained. "When they go out for the evening they might have good intentions not to let things get out of control but alcohol has a way of lowering your inhibitions."
And getting behind the wheel is not only dangerous for you and others on the road, it could cost you your license, fines, lawyer fees.
"If you are intoxicated, don't drive even if you are buzzed don't drive," Morse said. "Your insurance is going to go through the roof, if you are still insurable."
"It's a lot cheaper to find an alternative ride."
"Every drunk driver I've arrested has always wished they had done that," Morse added.
Can't afford one?
That's where lawyer Dave Christensen comes in.
His law firm is offering to pay for a ride - if you need it on Saint Patrick's Day.
"We will provide them a safe ride home, if they take a taxi, take an uber, let us know about it, we will reimburse that ride home, so it's free for them up to $35," he said.
Christensen represents people injured in car crashes - many have drunk drivers to blame.
"It ruins lives just in a blink of an eye because of a little bad judgement," Christensen said.
David Easterbrook's teenage daughter was killed by a drunk driver in Troy back in 2007.
He now speaks out - hoping to save lives.
Easterbrook explained, "The senseless preventable crime affects so many people it's difficult to define how deep it goes."
Christensen Law Firm will reimburse drivers up to $35.
Their program is called Safe Ride Home.
Hours for reimbursement for fare on St. Patrick's Day are 1:00 pm on March 17th until 4:00 am March 18th.
