Dearborn deadly crash linked to missing mother case in Tennessee

DEARBORN, MI (WXYZ) — Murfreesboro, Tennessee police confirm the black Dodge Charger SRT linked to a crash in Dearborn Friday night is connected to the case of a missing mother who never showed up to pick her daughter up from school.

She was reported missing ten days ago.

On Sunday night, Dearborn Police tried to stop the Charger after receiving a license plate reader notification that the car with Tennesse plates may be involved in the endangered missing person investigation.

Dearborn officers caught up to the vehicle on Forrer St., near Warren Ave. where it stopped on the right shoulder.

The vehicle took off when officers began to approach. MSP says there was a short police chase, but police lost sight of the suspect's vehicle. A few moments later, officers observed the car crashed into a home on Normile Street.

As Dearborn officers approached the vehicle shouting commands they heard a gunshot. Michigan State Police say the officers returned fire.

Inside the crashed car, police found a 34-year-old woman in the front passenger seat. She was taken to the hospital with injuries from the crash. Police also found the 36-year-old driver with a gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

As officers cleared the scene, they found the remains of a 31-year-old woman in the trunk of the vehicle. She has trauma not related to the crash and was also pronounced dead a the scene.

A 9mm Glock pistol was recovered from the car.

Police have not released the names of any of the women. Autopsies on the two deceased women are being conducted Monday.

"Dearborn is getting worse. A lot of crime. A lot of shooting. A lot of accidents," Nassr Saleh, a decade-long resident of Dearborn said. "I don't know what changed."

Detroit's Homicide Task Force will be handling the investigation, which is ongoing.
