Police investigate fatal hit-and-run crash in Northville

NORTHVILLE, Mich. (WXYZ) — Northville police are investigating a fatal hit and run crash from Thursday night.

On Sept. 3, around 11:38 p.m., Northville Community Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a pedestrian had been struck on Sheldon Road between Six Mile Road and Tournament Drive.

The Northville Township Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene and began providing advanced life support care, according to a release.

The 20-year-old Northville Township resident died on scene, police say.

Witnesses described the vehicle driving from the area of Six Mile Road south on Sheldon Road prior to the crash. According to police, initial information described the vehicle as a white or silver sedan last seen traveling south on Sheldon Road towards Five Mile Road.

Evidence at the scene indicates there is damage to the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.
