WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - Waterford Police are investigating a shooting that left a man dead in a home Friday night.
Around 9:12 p.m., officers responded to a call of a fatal shooting at a home on the 1300 block of Rossdale.
The caller told police a man pushed his way into the home and was shot by a resident in the home.
At the scene, officers found the 41-year-old man's body on the floor just inside the front door.
Further investigation revealed the residents in the home knew the victim and this was not a random intrusion, according to police.
The shooter has been taken into police custody and a handgun was recovered at the scene.
Police say the suspect is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
