Port Huron Police are investigating the deaths of a mother and daughter at a home on Stone Street Saturday.
According to police, a family friend had been called to the home around 12:59 p.m. When the friend arrived, they found the 53-year-old female resident deceased lying in bed next to her 79-year-old mother, who was also deceased.
The friend immediately called police. A preliminary investigation found that a handgun was used in what appeared to be a murder-suicide, according to authorities.
The investigation is ongoing.
