(WXYZ) — Police are investigating after a car was found with bullet holes on westbound I-696.
Early Thursday morning, a trooper was on patrol near Southfield Road when he noticed a white-colored BMW on the shoulder.
When he checked the vehicle for a driver, he saw several bullet holes in the car.
Police say a trail of antifreeze leading up to the car showed that the shooting did not take place at that location. A check of local hospitals and police departments did not reveal a victim or incident.
After investigation, police determined the vehicle was involved in an incident in the city of Warren and the vehicle has been processed.
