DETROIT (WXYZ) — A police investigation is underway in a neighborhood on Detroit's west side early Wednesday morning.
On July 22 around 3:20 a.m. in the 15700 block of Dexter, a 19-year-old male victim was found inside of a Jeep Cherokee with a gunshot wound to the body.
The vehicle also hit a home, police say. No one inside the home was injured.
Medics responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

Another suspect was taken into custody following a standoff with police at a home near Dexter and the Lodge.
We're learning the second suspect is a combat veteran who police say is believed to have shot a man with a military-style weapon. Officers say he may have been struggling with PTSD.

The man's son was also in the house with him. He was not harmed.
A portion of the road in the area of Dexter near Midland had been blocked for the investigation.
Police say there's no suspect description at this time.
