HIGHLAND PARK, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police are investigating a road rage incident that resulted in a shooting on westbound M-8 in Highland Park Thursday evening around 6:15.
An Impala was possibly involved in the shooting, which happened on the right shoulder. No one was injured in the shooting.
Freeway Shooting: On 8/20 at approximately 6 15 PM, MSP 911 was contacted by MDOT Courtesy Patrol about a Impala that was possibly involved in a shooting on the right shoulder WB M 8/Hamilton in Highland Park. The driver was with the vehicle and is not injured. pic.twitter.com/A7V0P4qF0D

The incident caused a closure to westbound M-8 from I-75 to M-10.
Police say the shooting stemmed from from a road rage incident, but no further information is immediately available. Detectives are still investigating.
