Police investigating one fatal, four nonfatal shootings in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police are investigating five shootings that occurred in Detroit late Sunday and early Monday. One shooting was fatal and four others were nonfatal.

The fatal shooting took place in the 7600 block of Stahelin on Sunday around 10:40 p.m. Police say a 30-year-old woman was traveling northbound on Stahelin with a 29-year-old man and they were almost struck by a black van. They continued northbound on Stahelin and pulled into a driveway.

The black van followed and stopped in the front of the location, then drove away. The witness and victim exited their vehicle and were inside when the black van returned. The suspect came onto the front porch, kicked in the front door and fired gunshots into the location, killing the woman.

Around 12:30 a.m. Monday, a shooting occurred in the 20000 block of Greenlawn. Police say the suspect, a 31-year-old man, knew the 35-year-old victim. They had an argument and the suspect allegedly shot the victim and then ran away. The victim suffered one gunshot wound.

Police say a 30-year-old woman is in stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound around 1:35 a.m. Monday. The victim told police she was at a lounge in the 19000 block of Hoover when she was shot by an unknown suspect.

A 22-year-old man suffered three gunshots wounds at a club in the area of Grand River and Livernois on Monday. The victim and a 24-year-old witness told police they were at the club, and as they entered a black 2011 Chevy Silverado, they heard shots fired and the victim was hit three times.

Police say the witness was not injured after the shots were fired and the witness drove the victim to the hospital for treatment. The victim is in stable condition.
