Detroit police say the man who opened fire on officers on the city's west side late Tuesday night has turned himself in to authorities.
Police say 40-year-old Deangelo Davis fired shots at officers in a police cruiser near Whitcomb around 11:30 p.m.
Police say they returned fire as Davis fled the scene. Officers believed the man was barricaded in a home on Schoolcraft near Sussex. Later Wednesday morning, officers discovered he wasn't inside the home.
No officers were injured in the incident and Davis ended up turning himself over to police around 11 a.m. Wednesday.
