(WXYZ) — Michigan State Police and Detroit police are looking for a driver who allegedly fired shots at a vehicle following a traffic crash on Grand River and Lindsay early Sunday.

The suspect and victim were involved in a traffic crash in Detroit and police arrived on the scene to take a crash report. After Detroit police left, the victim and suspect both entered the freeway, which is when the alleged shooting happened.

Police say the suspect pointed a gun at the victim and fired an unknown number of shots before fleeing the scene. The victim drove to the Merriman Road exit on I-96 where police arrived to take her report.

Another driver's vehicle was also struck by gunfire, police said.

A passenger in the initial victim's car was taken to the hospital after suffering an eye injury from broken glass caused by the shooting.

No other injuries were reported. Police continue to investigate.
