Ferndale police say a man purposely threw down nails and screws behind the courthouse and at the police parking lot, and they want your help finding the suspect.
"We understand and are prepared that sometimes we’re going to be targeted,” said Sgt. Baron Brown with the Ferndale Police Department.
On Monday, a police squad car and a courthouse employee both got flat tires. Brown says police knew right away something was off by the placement for the nails and screws they found, and the amount they were able to recover.
Ferndale police provided 7 Action News with video of the man they believe is responsible. The video shows a man reaching inside the pocket of his hoodie and take his hand back out. Police believe this is the moment he threw down the screws and nails.
"You know, I think it goes without saying that this person seemingly has some sort of beef with the criminal justice system,” Brown said.
