Detroit Police have made an arrest in the fatal hit-and-run accident that happened July 4 on the city's west side.

Police located Charles Dalton on Telegraph and Glendale around 1 p.m. Thursday and took him into custody.

On July 4 around 10:50 p.m., the 29-year-old victim was traveling north on Artesian on his mini-bike when Dalton fatally hit the victim, police say.

Dalton was driving east on Tireman in a gray Dodge Charger. After allegedly hitting the victim, Dalton ran away from the scene, leaving his vehicle behind.

Dalton received charges including operating while license suspended and failing to stop at accident by the Wayne County Prosector's Office.

He was arraigned Friday and received a $50,000 cash bond.
