DETROIT (WXYZ) — A man was found dead inside a home in southwest Detroit Wednesday morning.
Police tell 7 Action News that the deceased was found inside a home at the corner of 31st and Herbert streets. He has not been identified but police say the deceased is a white male in his 40s.
At this time investigators are not sure whether the man knew his attacker, or what the motive may have been in the shooting — police are working to figure out how, and when, the shooting took place.
A broken front window was visible from the front yard, police noted that it wasn’t broken 24 hours ago.
Initially there was a concern of a possible Hazmat situation, a number of chemicals were found inside and there was fear that a meth lab was located inside the home. Police have since noted that the concern was unfounded, but noted that narcotics may have been involved with people inside the home.
The investigation is ongoing.
7 Action News will continue to follow this story and update you as more details become available.
